I have been dreaming of shooting a wedding at Horseshoe Bend for the longest time. A few months ago, my friend, Ashtyn (of Ashtyn Nicole Photography) and I decided to make this dream a reality! We worked really hard over the next few months planning out this dream shoot. We reached out to some amazing local vendors, who were nice enough to donate their amazing products/services to our shoot. We found the best couple ever to model as our Bride and Groom. They could not have been any more perfect. They were so fun and easy to work with and made the whole shoot that much better. Jacob Morris(groom) is actually a country music singer and is INCREDIBLE! At the end of the shoot he whipped out his guitar and serenaded the whole place. It was amazing to see everyone's jaws drop and all of Horseshoe Bend(and the hundreds of people exploring it) got DEAD silent and listened to him and his amazing voice. I was honestly having the hardest time holding back tears. It was such an amazing experience. I was shocked at how many people swarmed around us whipping out their cameras, go pros, selfie sticks(yep), phones, etc. to record him.
We shot in three different locations in Page. The first one was a really sketchy sand hill that we ended up getting my car stuck in(big thanks to Jacob and Ashtyn for pushing it out!) The photos turned out so beautiful there so I would say it was totally worth almost destroying my car for. The second location was a super unique spot with little swirly looking rocks for as far as the eye could see. The last location was at the infamous Horseshoe Bend. That place is absolutely incredible. When we walked up to the cliff, my jaw dropped. I was speechless. I needed a few minutes to take it all in. It really is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Also terrifying if you are afraid of heights(which I'm not thankfully). This time of year there are a million little gnats flying around though. They were terrorizing the models but I was like "keep em coming!" They made so many of my shots look like magical confetti was just randomly thrown everywhere. Everyone laughs when I tell them those are swarms of bugs in the photos. Getting creative is what it's all about! ;) Put this place on your bucket list if it isn't already! You will not be disappointed. I am ever so grateful to our models and vendors who came together to make this shoot a reality. It really was a dream come true!
Here is a list of the vendors + their Instagram handles. I would highly recommend each and every one of them.
