Superstition Mountains at Sunrise

Hannah + Cameron

Anniversary couple’s sessions in the Superstition Mountains have my heart! My traveling has slowed down for the fall/winter, and I love being able to shoot all over the Arizona desert! Did you know that I’m an Arizona native? I’ve lived here basically my whole life, minus a short stint where I lived in Idaho + Hawaii. Arizona will always be my home and I feel so lucky to be a wedding photographer here with all of the incredible landscapes and nature that it has to offer. I’m constantly amazed by this state! I never realized what I had here until I started traveling the world. Hannah and Cameron have been married for over five years now , and they were just as snuggly and giggly as newlyweds in their anniversary session we did at sunrise at the Superstition Mountains. I always love doing sunrise sessions because it is so quiet and it really feels like we have the whole desert to ourselves. It’s so peaceful and if all of my couples were up for shooting that early I would do it all the time. It’s hard to get up that early but it is SO WORTH IT! This spot at the Superstitions is one of my favorites. There’s so much to see. It’s surrounded by amazing saguaros and the prettiest purply pink mountains. You just have to watch out for that crazy jumping cactus. That stuff is no joke. Really. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to pick those damned thing out of my shoes or even my feet. Pro tip: always wear close toed shoes in the desert. Always. No exceptions. I’m speaking from experience here people. But don’t let that scare you away from this beautiful place.
