Cannon Beach Elopement on the Oregon Coast | Athena + Ian

I’m always drawn to adventurous spirits, just like Athena and Ian. I love their spontaneity and sense of adventure, not to mention their French Bulldogs Otto and Iggy! Like so many couples in 2020, they had to postpone their California wedding.

A few weeks before their Oregon coast engagement session, they called me and asked “Can we elope that day instead?” So just like that, we were planning a wedding and I helped them put together an epic Cannon Beach elopement!

We started with a slow morning walk around the cute beach town of Manzanita and coffee with the pups. Then we found a hike up to an epic spot overlooking the coast. Their dog Otto got tired and my husband Brandon ended up carrying him the rest of the way. He actually carried him around the whole day because Otto is a little diva, it was so funny!

The best part about eloping is the slow pace and intimacy of the day. Athena and Ian got ready together at a lodge overlooking the beach – it was so special. Just the two of them and the dogs looking over the spot where they would say “I do”. A pinnacle altar framed the rock formations that Cannon Beach is famous for where they exchanged vows and shared their first dance.

A gorgeous picnic for two awaited them with pizza, salad and pie. Otto and Iggy were hoping there was enough for 4 and snuggled in for lunch on the beach. We watched as the incredible sky lit up at sunset and took photos in the glassy water along the beach! It was insanely beautiful. Even Ian had to break out his camera to capture a few snaps of his beautiful bride! Everything about this day was perfect with all the good good vibes!
